Navarre Park on Santa Rosa Sound hosts the town's Christmas tree lighting with holiday music from 4:30 PM. The tree lights at about 5:25 PM, and sponsors hand out hot chocolate, coffee and cookies. It is short and close to home, which makes it an easy start to the season.

Not confirmed: A military rate. We searched and the venue publishes none. That is not the same as there being none, so it is worth asking.
