Coastal Eventures, home

For local business

A free listing either way, and a sponsorship that says what it is

Your listing is free and it always will be. We don’t charge for inclusion, we don’t rank paying venues higher, and we’ll never leave a real family event off the list because nobody paid us.

What we doWe verify against your own page

We read your site, not an aggregator

Prices, hours and dates come off your page. If a listing site disagrees, your page wins.

We show when we last checked

Every card carries the date it was verified.

We ask about your military rate

A separate search on every venue, every sweep. On this coast it is the first thing families look for.

We say when we don’t know

If we can’t confirm a price we print that instead of a number. Nobody drives out on a figure we made up.

The fastest way inSend us your calendar

A scraper can only take what is already published. Your October lineup, sent in August, is the hardest thing for us to find and the one families cannot get anywhere else.

Nonprofits, churches, schools and libraries: same form, same free listing.

SponsorshipWhat the money actually buys

The guide is drawn, and the drawing is where a sponsor lives: a boat, a buoy, a cooler, a flag on its pole. Part of the picture, not a banner stapled over it.

Every size below is measured on a 390 pixel phone, which is what most people are holding.

This is the guide’s own coastline, at the size a phone draws it. The name across the boat’s transom, the canopy of the parasail, the banner behind the plane and the cart on the sand are four of the places a local business goes, and you are reading them here at exactly the size your customers would. Every company named on it is one we invented to stand in for a real one, because nobody has bought any of these yet.

The small props

Cooler, buoy, flagpole, the name on the transom. A logo or one short word.

The hull

A painted boat. Your mark or one wordmark, because we measured it before we sold it.

The float and the banner plane

Both run the full width of the water. A real line of copy: an offer, a price, a weekend.

The card placement

The widest we have, in the list itself. A mark, a line of copy and a link, every sixth card, never over another business.

The shelf, on every sixth card

A drawn creature carries your sign under a listing. A name or a short line. Unsold, a dashed edge and no word at all.

The section, every sixth card

A ruled column: name, address, phone and a line of copy, with a scene to carry it. Reads Sponsored when bought, offers the space when not.

Bought

Empty, as it stands today

This is the shelf. A placement lands on every 6th card, and each one is either this shelf or the block below it, never both. Bought, the osprey holds your sign, the word Sponsored sits in the corner, and the whole strip becomes the link to you. Empty, the sign comes down and no word replaces it, because a space nobody has paid for must never wear a disclosure. Halyard & Co. is a company we invented, the same one on the boat further up this page.
This is the section that lands every sixth card, built by the same code that will ship the real ones. Halyard & Co. is a company we invented. Everything around it is exactly what a paying business gets: the word Sponsored above the name, the rules that hold it apart from the listings, and the line at the bottom saying what the money did and did not buy.

Founding rateYour founding rate is held for your first twelve paid months

A limited number of founding placements. The rate you start at is the rate you keep for a full twelve months, whatever the audience grows to.

The guide is new, and we would rather earn that first year than price it off a guess. Ask, and we will tell you exactly what you get.

A name and a link needs no artwork and goes up the day we speak. If yours needs drawing, that is free while founding rates are open.

The part most people don’t put in writingWhat it never buys

  • It does not buy a position. Paying changes nothing on the list or its order. A placement is added beside it, never into it.
  • It does not buy a better write-up. Your card says what we verified, whether you are a sponsor or not.
  • It does not buy a competitor’s removal. Nobody can pay to take another business off this list. Not for any amount.
  • It does not buy silence. If we find your hours changed or your price moved, we correct the card. Being a sponsor does not freeze it.
  • It does not hide. A paid placement carries the word Advertisement or Sponsored, in that word, on the placement itself, every time.

How a placement is countedWe will tell you what we actually know

No ad server, and nothing here follows anybody around. So we cannot invent an impression count and we are not going to quote you one.

What we can tell you honestly, every month:

  • The dates your placement ran, and how many builds it shipped in. The guide rebuilds several times a day, so that is a real, checkable number.
  • Taps on your link. Not yet. The counting redirect is built next. Until it exists we will not claim a number we cannot produce.
  • A link you can measure yourself. We will tag it however your analytics want it, so the number is your own.

Show supportHelp keep the guide checked

One family reads every venue’s own page before a listing ships, and no reader is ever charged for any of it. If this guide has earned a place in your weekend, the Support page lists the ways to help, and most of them cost nothing.
