The short answerWhat we collect

Nothing. No account, no sign-up, and we never ask for your name or email. Type an address to find your town faster and we keep only the town. The address is never saved and never leaves your phone.

No analytics. No tracking. No advertising network. No cookie that follows you from here to anywhere else. Nobody holds a profile of you because of this app, and that includes us.

On your phone, and nowhere elseWhat the app remembers

The app saves a few things so you do not have to set them twice: who is in your party and how old they are, the needs you ticked, your area of the coast, the plans you pinned, the nights you saved, and how you like the app to look.

All of it is written to your own device and none of it is sent anywhere. There is no server to send it to: the app and this site are static files, the way a photo on your phone is a file.

Two, and neither one is about youThe requests the app makes

• The forecast. When you open the app it asks the National Weather Service for the forecast at one fixed point on this coast. It is a public government feed at api.weather.gov. The request carries no payload, no account and nothing that identifies you or your phone. If you have no signal, the app keeps the forecast it was built with and tells you which day that reading came from.
• Its own version number. The app asks this site for a short text file holding the number of the current build, so it knows when to update itself. That file holds the number and nothing else.

That is the whole list. Today's beach flag is baked in when the app is built, so it costs no request and works with the network off. This website asks for nothing beyond the page you opened.

Only when you tap Use my locationLocation

The app never checks where you are on its own. There is a button that offers to use your location. Tap it and your phone asks your permission first, the way it does for any site.

If you allow it, the browser hands over a latitude and longitude, the app works out the nearest area of the coast, and throws the coordinates away. Not saved, not written to a file, not sent anywhere. What stays is the name of the area, on your phone.

You never have to use it. Picking your area off the list does the same job with the permission switched off, and the app works with no area set at all.

Somebody else's front doorLinks that leave the app

Cards link out to the venue's own page and the directions button opens Google Maps. Tap one and you are on somebody else's site under their privacy policy. We hand them nothing: every outbound link is sent without a referrer.

Not now and not laterSharing, selling and ads

We do not share anything about you with anybody, and we do not sell it. There is nothing to share or to sell.

A business can buy a placement, and that card says Sponsored, every time. A sponsor never receives anything about who saw it. There is no list of readers to hand over.

No payment is taken in the app or on this site, so there is no card number and no billing record here either.

Nothing, from anybodyChildren

This guide is built for families, and a lot of the people using it are children. It collects nothing from anybody, so it collects nothing from them.

One tapDeleting what is there

Clear this app's data in your settings and everything it remembered is gone. Uninstalling does the same. There is no copy on a server, so no form to fill in and nobody to ask.
