Gulf Shores is building public plazas on both sides of the Intracoastal Waterway at the landings of its separate pedestrian bridge project. Plans include restrooms, sidewalks, shade trees, seating, viewing areas, and event spaces for Waterway Village. The bridge and the parks are coordinated but do not share an opening date.
