The City of Foley is moving its 94 acre Andrew James Wetland Preserve toward a public opening. Access road work was approved as of a May 4, 2026 update. The city's Nature Parks page separately points to 2027 for opening it as a passive park area, so the exact date is still unsettled. Once open, it gives nature-minded families trails and wetland wildlife to watch without a drive out of town.
