Hurlburt Field's Force Support Squadron runs a free Halloween festival at Lil' Commando Community Park, with a trunk-or-treat vehicle contest, a haunted trail, carnival games and food vendors. Anyone without a DOD ID needs a Real ID and a sponsored visitor's pass from the base Visitor Control Center to get through the gate, arranged on a weekday before 2 PM. Families wanting to decorate a car for the trunk-or-treat contest can register a vehicle ahead of time for free.
Before you go
- Plan your gate entry first: without a DOD ID you need a Real ID plus a visitor's pass, sponsored by an active-duty member, DOD employee, or retiree, from the Visitor Control Center on a weekday before 2 PM.
- Head to Lil' Commando Community Park on McMillan Street once through the gate.
- Arrive between 4 and 7 PM on Friday, October 30 for trunk-or-treat, the haunted trail, carnival games and food vendors.
- Register a decorated vehicle ahead of time if you want to take part in the trunk-or-treat contest.
- Call the Community Center at 850-884-2606 for a rain date or other questions.
